Though the man behind the company, AVN Award-winning performer and director Lexington Steele, has over 10 years of experience, Mercenary Pictures took over distribution of its own product in October 2003.

Steele is one of the most recognizable men in the adult industry, as a performer, director and as the head of one of the most recognizable gonzo producers in adult, consistently garnering praise and awards from critics the world over.

“I’ve done a lot of shooting and a lot of directing for a lot of different people,” Steele said. “I’m proud of each of those titles, but the time had come for me to set out on my own.”

Mercenary Pictures reflects Lexington Steele’s vision of what the gonzo, or all-sex, genre of porn should be. Unencumbered by corporate dictates of what he can and can’t shoot, Steele’s opening shot with Mercenary was ManHammer, then Black Reign, followed by Lex Steele XXX, SuperWhores and Pole Position: Lex POV. All of his products under Mercenary matches the world’s best female talent with the world’s best male talent, with the end result being, in Steele’s own words, “great sex caught on video.”

Steele’s vision for Mercenary knows no color. As a performer, Steele is known for his over-the-top performances and as a company owner he brings high production value to his interracial titles and, the in the case of Black Reign, Ebony XXX and Black Moon Risin’, his ethnic lines.

“The caliber of production of all of the lines in my company is far and above what anyone else is doing, whether it’s the gonzo market and especially the ethnic market,” Steele said.
